IFO Reaffirms its Commitment to Protect Inclusion and Collective Bargaining

FY18 payroll deductions for IFO member dues and fair share fees for most faculty will start on their first September paycheck.  The FY18 member dues and fair share fees rates approved by the Board have stayed the same as last year and can be found on our membership page. Most full-time and part-time faculty who teach both fall and spring semesters will have 16 payments deducted and adjunct and community faculty will have 3 payments deducted.

If you would like to join the union, you can sign up here.  You can also return the blue membership card included in your fair share packet.

If you would like to verify your member/fair share status, or if you have questions about timing or amounts of payroll deductions, please contact Membership Coordinator Donna Blake at

We look forward to having you join our community!

IFO Constitution Amended to Add Board Seats for Faculty with Contingent Appointments

We are proud to announce the passage of an IFO Constitutional Amendment which adds seats to the IFO Board exclusively for faculty members with fixed term, adjunct, and community faculty appointments. This continues the efforts of the IFO to take concrete measures to give a voice to faculty with fixed term, adjunct, and community faculty appointments.

In a related action, the IFO Board adopted the Contingent Appointments Committee. The committee’s charge is to address issues for faculty who hold fixed term, adjunct or community faculty appointments. In the near future, our Faculty Association leaders will send a call for faculty to serve as their campus representatives to the committee. The committee will include up to two faculty with contingent appointments from each campus. This committee will select the faculty representatives with contingent appointments who will serve on the IFO Board of Directors.
