Wellbeing Program Offers $70 Credit on 2021 Employee Deductible
The IFO joins with a coalition of labor unions representing state employees to bargain collectively for health insurance coverage. Our state health insurance plan includes a wellbeing program that provides a financial incentive to reward and support healthy habits at home and work.
Currently, the program provides a $5 office visit copay discount for employees who participated by completing a health assessment. The $5 copay discount will end on December 31, 2020, and will be replaced with a $70 credit towards an employee’s deductible for 2021 for those who participate in the wellbeing program.
Insurance eligible employees who collect 200 points and log them into their account with the program vendor Virgin Pulse by October 31, 2020, will receive the $70 credit on their 2021 employee deductible. Earn points by completing health-related activities from a list of options that include getting your annual physical, teeth cleaning, or other preventive care (earn 50 points each for completing two preventive care activities), exercising 10 times in a month (worth 80 points), tracking calories 10 days in a month (for 20 points), or tracking 7,000 steps for 20 days in a month (40 points). Employees can also earn 100 points by getting a flu shot, and another 100 points by taking the Health Assessment before October 31, 2020.
