I am excited to announce that IFO members voted overwhelmingly to approve the 2019-2021 IFO/MinnState contract settlement. More than 97% of the votes cast were in favor of the settlement terms. We're thankful and energized by the level of engagement and the high number of faculty who participated in this important process.

Next Steps:
Now that the IFO membership has accepted the tentative agreement, the MinnState Board of Trustees is expected to vote to agree to the settlement later this week at their Board meeting. After the Board of Trustees consents to the settlement, it will then go to the Legislature and will be considered by a House and Senate joint subcommittee. If the Subcommittee approves or takes no action then the contract settlement will go into effect. Our goal is for the settlement to go into effect in January 2020.
The full Legislature will need to ratify the contracts during the 2020 Legislative session which convenes on Tuesday, February 11. It is going to be very important that IFO members contact their legislators throughout the Legislative session urging them to ratify the contract settlement. Upon the Legislature's approval, the contract will be permanently adopted.
Please contact me at jeffers@ifo.org with any questions about contract ratification or the Legislative process. You can review the changes that have been approved by IFO members at www.ifo.org/contractsettlement.
Thank you again for your continued support.
