Teachers from the Saint Paul Federation of Educators (SPFE) and the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) and Education Support Professionals filed separate intent to strike notices on Wednesday, February 23. That means the 10-day strike notification period as required under Minnesota law has begun.
The IFO stands in solidarity with these dedicated educators as they bargain for, increased wages for ESP's, providing more mental health services for students, multilingual and special education supports, expanding practices addressing the racial disparities in schools, reducing class sizes, raising compensation for teachers, and more.

IFO leaders have been in contact with both units to offer our support, including our office space as a warming house for those on the picket lines, signing onto supportive letters, sharing information with IFO members, and joining the picket lines.
We'll continue to send updates as they become available.
