The MN House will vote later today (May 17) on a constitutional amendment that would dedicate certain sales tax revenue to transportation projects -- funneling that money away from things like State universities and public schools.
We need to maximize our outreach because the Senate has not scheduled a vote yet and only a few days remain before the end of the 2018 session.
The proposed amendment -- HF4437/SF3837 -- would raid more than $1 billion from the general fund over a span of just four years.
Taking money from vital state services like higher education, public schools, and nursing homes to pay for transportation projects will hurt our universities and our communities in the long-term.
Please contact your legislators and urge them to vote NO.
If approved, voters would decide on the constitutional amendment in November.
