The impacts of COVID-19 go far beyond the virus itself. The IFO leadership has begun to regularly hear about the negative impacts of the virus on the emotional and mental well-being of our members. In response, the IFO is hosting a drop-in zoom session on December 2 from 3:30-5 p.m. to connect you with resources focused on mental health. The goal is to bring our community together to get support to get through an exceptionally difficult time as faculty. Details to participate in the drop-in session will be emailed to all IFO members.
In addition to the drop-in session, a letter was recently sent to Chancellor Malhotra asking him to work with campus presidents to find ways to reduce or delay the workload of our members in ways that don’t directly impact students. This has begun an encouraging conversation on the campuses and at the system office.
We encourage you to visit the IFO COVID-19 webpage if you have any questions or need resources, including mental health resources.
