Call for Applications for Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Equity Inclusion Coordinator
The Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) invites applications from its equity caucus members for the position of statewide Equity & Inclusion (E&I) Coordinator.
The EI Coordinator will report to the IFO Board and advise the IFO Board, President and staff on EI related matters. A full position description is attached.
The selected candidate will begin their two-year term on the first duty day (August 18) of Fall 2020 and will have full release time (24 credits @12 credits/semester) from their teaching responsibilities. IFO members that are currently on the faculty at any of the seven state universities in the Minnesota State system, and are members of one or more equity caucuses, are eligible to apply.
Aside from demonstrating strong communication and community building skills, the successful candidate must have the ability to travel to all seven campuses and regularly attend IFO staff meetings (in person or remotely). Candidates with a strong and demonstrated background in social justice and equity work, race/ethnic studies, or related fields are preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION
EQUITY & INCLUSION COORDINATOR
(Renewable Two-Year Terms, Starting August 2020)
24 credits release time (12 each semester)
The Equity & Inclusion (E/I) Coordinator will have the following duties:
1. Represent the IFO and marginalized faculty perspectives on MinnState system equity committees/groups
a. Equity Inclusion Council of the system Chief Diversity Officer
b. Academic Equity Committee
c. E/I discussions with MinnState chancellor and/or vice-chancellors and the system chief diversity officer
d. Statewide Meet and Confer Committee
2. Advise IFO President and Staff on E/I matters
a. IFO E/I strategic plan
b. IFO strategy for faculty of color retention and recruitment
c. IFOSA equity and inclusion/affirmative action plan
3. Advise IFO equity committees
4. Coordinate E/I priorities at DA
5. Track E/I progress
a. Within the IFO at the statewide and campus level
b. Coordinate and track the IFO’s contribution to Equity 2030
6. Advise and review local FA E/I plans
7. Coordinate E/I workshops, learning sessions and faculty development
a. Annual faculty of color leadership retreats
b. Other E/I learning sessions/workshops
8. Facilitate the creation of/support existing equity caucuses (Faculty of Color Caucus, LGBTQ Caucus, Women’s Caucus, Disabled Faculty Caucus) at each campus, as well as statewide equity caucuses
a. Identify and recruit local faculty leadership for campus-based caucuses
b. Support and advise faculty who are forming caucuses.
c. Work with caucus leadership to build networks between local caucuses and between local and statewide caucuses
d. Promote understanding of the function and purpose of equity caucuses among Union members and leadership at the local and state-wide levels.
e. Communicate progress on caucus formation to the IFO Board.
9. Report to and advise the IFO Board on IFO E/I matters
Qualifications
o IFO Member currently on the faculty at any of the state universities
o Equity caucus member
o Ability to travel to all seven campuses
o Ability to regularly attend IFO staff meetings (in person or remotely)
o Strong communication and community building skills
o Background in social justice, race/ethnic studies, or related field preferred
