The IFO Board of Directors recently revised the terms of IFO membership to adjust the cutoff date for cancellation. Previously, a member could cancel their annual membership at any time between April 1 and September 1.
To tighten the organization’s financial planning, the Board voted to adopt a cutoff date prior to the start of a new fiscal year. The new cancellation window of April 1 to June 15 greatly improves the organization’s ability to plan budgets responsibly and provide valuable services for its members.
The new membership language reads:
As a condition of membership, I hereby request and voluntarily authorize my employer, the State of Minnesota, to deduct from my earnings as a MnSCU University employee an amount equal to periodic dues applicable to IFO members. This authorization shall remain in effect and be irrevocable unless I revoke it by sending written notice by U.S. Mail to the IFO, postmarked during the window period of April 1 to June 15. This authorization will renew and remain irrevocable from year to year, unless I revoke it in writing during the window period, irrespective of my membership in the IFO.
