2016-2017 MEMBER DUES AND FAIR SHARE FEES

All faculty teaching more than three (3) semester credit hours or more than one (1) course during the academic year are part of the IFO bargaining unit.  In accordance with state law, all faculty in the IFO bargaining unit must pay member dues or fair share fees according to the schedule found below.

PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS

Faculty with full-time (75% or more), year-long appointments will ordinarily have their dues or fair share fees deducted from their paychecks in 16 equal installments.  For most faculty, deductions will begin in September and end in April. For faculty with assignments less than 75% time, deductions will follow a schedule determined by the IFO.  Adjunct or community faculty dues/fees will normally be deducted in three (3) equal installments.

You may also choose to pay your dues or fair share fees in one (1) lump sum by sending a check for the full amount for your base salary category.  Make the check payable to Inter Faculty Organization and send it to: Inter Faculty Organization, Attn: Membership, 490 Concordia Avenue, Suite 125, St. Paul, MN  55103.  In order to avoid complications with the state payroll process, lump sum payment checks must be received by the IFO office prior to September 1st for fall semester and January 10th for spring semester.  If you are unable to meet these deadlines, please email Donna Blake, IFO Membership Coordinator, to make other arrangements (blake@ifo.org).

CANCELLATION POLICY

The IFO Board of Directors recently revised the terms of IFO membership to adjust the cutoff date for cancellation.  Previously, a member could cancel their annual membership at anytime between April 1st and September 1st for the following year.  To tighten the organization's financial planning, the Board voted to adopt a new cutoff date prior to the start of a new fiscal year.  The new cancellation window of April 1st to June 15th greatly improves the organization's ability to plan budgets responsibly and provide valuable services for its members.  Cancellation requests must be submitting in writing to the IFO membership coordinator, Donna Blake, at blake@ifo.org or mailed to IFO, Attn: Donna Blake, 490 Concordia Avenue, Suite 125, St. Paul, MN 55103.
